Great shot. I prefer the color version.

The K-01 is a great place for a Helios.
Agreed ... it's a great capture. I prefer the color, too. TFS, J

Super well done Chris, as always. It's odd, the subject almost looks super imposed against the background they're so separated. Great light in that photo.
Odd in a good way I hope. Thanks BTW!

That must be a dreamjob. Make photos of beautiful girls and be paid for that "job".
It would be a dream job if I was making enough money from the photography to pay all my bills but as a hobby I definitely can't complain.

It's real neck and neck on those two. No definitive winner as far overall popularity is concerned. I agree about the K-01.

This thread inspired me to dust of my helios lens at lunch, I haven't used it in quite a while. As others have said, wow it's hard to get focus bang on at f2 on an APS-C camera.

This lens sure does well for $50, it's amazing how close you can focus with it.

Shot wide open, on a really dreary day in Ottawa at a field of ice covered black eyed Suzans.

Thanks guys! I agree the subject matched the lens characteristics well. I was shooting my son working on a project for school with his music and metal working tutor (interesting combo that works out great for us!). He needed some documentation shots and I never want to just document something if I can also make an interesting image! I figured swirly bokeh and swirly sparks would be a good match. Focus was challenging wide open but I managed to get a few keepers out of a couple dozen tries. The project came out great too, he got an A+.
