great lens for a tiny price, the bokeh is lovely, swirly sometimes, all in all Helios 58mm f2 is a masterpiece

Matt I am noticing the flare in these images and see that you have recently got the adapter. Are you aware that light can pour in the 2 slots in the infinity adapter with the 44s and 44-2s because of the lack of shoulder on these models?

Not exactly familiar with that issue but this was shooting into the sun so the flare was not a surprise.

Definitely. Sun was hitting the front element.

If you are using an infinity capable adapter then it is an issue to be aware of when using any m42 lens with a small shoulder where it comes up against the body. All infinity adapters will leak light - not just cheap ones. Take a look at your setup at the 9 oclock and 3 oclock points when the camera is horizontal. I use a large black O-ring to cover the joint when I am using my 44 and 44-2.
