The obvious solution is to dedicate one body per lens. That way you'd never have to change lenses, just swap cameras. I'll even loan you my bearer, Ansel, to shlep them around for you, as soon as he returns from therapy. Heh.
More seriously, I've read of some noted photographer and teacher (damn, I wish I could remember her name!) who operates on the model of few lenses, several cameras. Considering the relative prices of top-end glass and decent bodies, that's not such a crazy paradigm.
Quote: If I didn't think it would weigh a ton and be completely impractical, I would be thinking of a Lens turret so I could just load and go. Kind of like the old Bolex (and other) movie cameras had. Of course, the mounts for those cameras are about 1/3 the size of the K mount.
I was surfing idly not too long ago and came upon a Russian still camera with a turret for M42 lenses. Let's see, if I could have a 20, 35, 55, 85, and 135 all aboard at once, all the fastest available, I could toss most of my zooms! Bon voyage, Vivitar Series 1! Sayonara, superzoom! Kiss my a$$, kit lens! Bye bye, Lil'Bigma! No, wait, I'd have to keep that last. But all the rest? Sold down the river!
Tsk, with that turret loaded, my bearer Ansel will need to see a chiropractor more often, poor lad.
