With a round lens it's hard to say.

I still don't understand how a round lens produces a rectagular or square image.

but's that's okay..don't tell me...otherwise the mystery would be gone and I would have to start all over.

hey Pentax is this the two million dollar post?

Very hard to say, as I guess I like sharp lenses, because I have a bunch of the lenses mentioned so far. My Pentax-F 50mm/2.8 Macro is incredibly sharp. And of course the Vivitar Series 1 105mm Macro is razor sharp as well. The DA 40/DA 70 pair are super sharp. As is the Pentax-F 50mm/1.7. M 28/3.5 and Viv 28mm/2.8 CF lenses are very sharp. The tamron zooms, FA 35/2 and DA 35 Macro are no slouches either. I just don't know.

doesn't get much sharper than this I think. it always blows me away, even wide open.
I definitely concur.

Pentax 645 FA 120mm f/4 Macro. Recent purchase. Amazing lens. Use it with my Pentax 645N as well as my Pentax K10D.

50mm macro Tak (1:1)
DA 35mm ltd
Sigma 105mm EX DG
Tamron 90mm 52BB
Tamron 180mm f2.5
M 50mm f1.4
DA* 300mm f4
SMC 55mm f1.8
FA 77mm ltd
FA 50mm f1.4

FA 43mm is my sharpest, but my 16-45mm and 55-300mm are not far behind.

Yes, it's sharp. But I don't measurbate, I use this lens for it's focal length and speed.
The A* 200mm f2.8 isn't bad either, nor is the FA35. The F*300mm f4.5 is also in the top league. But as said, I've never compared them for sharpness, only for purpose.

Anyone own an extra A* 200mm Macro for a life long loan?

My DA 35 Ltd. at high magnification (close to 1:1) may be the sharpest I've seen so far,
