Just ordered the DA 55-300mm from Adorama!!!

I just ordered the Pentax SMC P-DA 55-300mm f/4.0-5.8 ED Auto Focus Telephoto Zoom Lens with Hood, from Adorama for $349.95!

I can't wait to try it with my K7!!!

I clicked on the link from Adam's signature to go to Adorama, so hopefully it supports this forum too!

I'm pretty sure it will, that's pretty awesome of you to do that! Anyways, you'll probably love this lens on your K-7, it's much better than the 50-200mm and one of Pentax's best affordable telephoto lenses, I hope you'll show us some photos from it too!

I will most certainly post some pictures from the lense. I can't wait to try out some nature shots, moon shots, etc, etc.

I'll probably post too many pictures from it when if first gets here, since I'll be so excited about it! LOL!

This lens and DA 18-55mm AL II were my first lenses with my K20D. I used them both a lot for a while before I got sucked into the f2.8s and the Ltds, primes and what not....

I took the 55-300 out after reading this post and now its going to sit on the K-x for a few days.

Great lens, you'll enjoy it for sure.

I'm about to go crazy!!!

I thought I ordered the lense with 3 day UPS shipping. I was expecting it to be here Saturday, or Monday at the latest...I double checked the receipt after not receiving it yet and see that it was marked as standard mail....5-7 business days!!! I can't wait for it to get here! UGH!!!

Hi Coach! I am sure you will love the lens, but I will warn you that 300mm is a little short for moon shots, even on APS-c. Great for nature shots, though.

Would you like me to double-check for you? If someone has messed up then we'd owe you a shipping refund; email me with your order number if you like.

BTW, UPS 3-day, is only business day delivery, so it wouldn't be delivered on a Saturday - just so you are aware for the future.

Argh! waiting for a used one to come up. DA or DA-L. Seems like everyone likes this lens and no one wants to let it go. I might have to bite the bullet and pony up for a new one at $350.

Congrats on the purchase!

Be sure to look at it on Amazon so that Amazon knows you're interested. You might get lucky like me where, eventually, Amazon offered it to me as one of my personal daily deals, for $330 instead of $350. Figured it was worth it since the last DA I watched on eBay went for $315 shipped.

It came today at a little after 5:00 PM. I went out and grabbed a few shots to see what it can do. I'm very excited and can't wait to really get comfortable with it!!!

Here's the little gem!

A creek, shot at 55 mm.

Hen mallard.

Drake mallard.

My daughter's dog Lady.
