Question to you folks is, shouldn't the CPU be indicating the 58mm focal length to the camera body (k-7 in my case), or is that function specific to the Nikon? Metering and aperture control through the camera are working just fine, but it's a bit on the annoying side to always have to select the focal length every time I turn on my camera. Has anyone been able to get this to work?
thanks.
I have both K-7 and Nokton 58mm. A Pentaxian advised me to select 55mm at the start (yes, each time you switch on the camera). It works fine. At switch on, the camera recommends 55mm and I press Ok. That is not very demanding... And it does not bother me.
Otherwise, the Voigtlander Nokton 58 mm is a great, great lens with the K-7. Great IQ, very solid lens basically WR, and a great price. I love the low light performances, and beyond. I bought mine for low-light shooting outdoor (typically less than 20% of my interest), but found to use it nearly twice that.
A highly recommended lens.....
