voigtlander 58mm f/1.4 CPU does...

So My new Nokton came in the mail yesterday, and I'm really enjoying it. Question to you folks is, shouldn't the CPU be indicating the 58mm focal length to the camera body (k-7 in my case), or is that function specific to the Nikon? Metering and aperture control through the camera are working just fine, but it's a bit on the annoying side to always have to select the focal length every time I turn on my camera. Has anyone been able to get this to work?

thanks.

I have both K-7 and Nokton 58mm. A Pentaxian advised me to select 55mm at the start (yes, each time you switch on the camera). It works fine. At switch on, the camera recommends 55mm and I press Ok. That is not very demanding... And it does not bother me.

Otherwise, the Voigtlander Nokton 58 mm is a great, great lens with the K-7. Great IQ, very solid lens basically WR, and a great price. I love the low light performances, and beyond. I bought mine for low-light shooting outdoor (typically less than 20% of my interest), but found to use it nearly twice that.

A highly recommended lens.....

The Nokton works like any A series lens. You will have to set the focal length each time you power up the camera.

Non-AF CPU'd lenses don't transfer focal length info to the body with Pentax cameras, unlike Nikon.
