Yeah! I didn't think the 35/1.2 was possible ?, been looking for a good fast wide for a while.

I'll play,

DA15, DA21, FA31, FA43, FA77, FA135/2.8, FA* 28-70/2.8, FA*80-200/2.8, Sigma 100-300 F4, Pentax FA 200/f4 macro, Sigma 500/4.5. (well over 10k, more like 14k)

Of these I will get the FA*28-70 soon, will one day get the 80-200 if it comes at a sane price (~1.2k), most likely will never get the Pentax FA 200/4 or 500/4.5 and have the rest already.

This is just for my K20D. My 645N would have to wait. I think I've got a couple here no-one else has come up with. I don't need anything over 200mm, which makes it easier.

$ 750 = DA 12-24 ED AL (IF)
$ 450 = Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF)
$ 530 = FA* 24mm F2 AL [IF]
$ 900 = FA 31mm F1.8 AL Limited
$ 600 = MC Arax 35/2.8 Tilt & Shift
$ 470 = FA 43mm F1.9 Limited
$ 700 = FA 77mm F1.8 Limited
$1200 = A* 85mm F1.4
$1600 = Voigtländer SL Macro APO-Lanthar 125mm f/2.5
$1700 = A* 200mm F4 Macro ED [IF]

Those are used prices using the best I could find. This leaves $1100 since I won't get these deals on all of them.

Wow! That's an impressive list and gives me some new ideas. The FA LTDs are probably the only AF lens I'll use. Ideally, I'd have FA LTDs, Voigtländers, Leicas, Angenieux, Bokina and maybe a Takumar or two.

This is what I'm looking for from people, the DA*s and FA*s are obvious and boring candidates.

Actually, it looks a lot like your original list, now I look at it again. I chose the FA Limiteds since I own two of them and know them to be fantastic. On the wide end the DA12-24 is a no-brainer. I threw in the Tamron as an outsider... a practical concession for when I need just one lens at a gig.

The A*85 just looks better to me and is more versatile than the FA*. In macro, who needs auto-focus? So the A* 200 made the grade. Photos I have seen from it and the Voigtlander top my list for bokeh and sharpness combined. Getting both is greedy, I know.

And every real photographer needs a Tilt & Shift lens.

On a budget I could cut this down to $4200 like so:

$ 750 = DA 12-24 ED AL (IF)
$ 600 = MC Arax 35/2.8 Tilt & Shift
$ 470 = FA 43mm F1.9 Limited
$ 700 = FA 77mm F1.8 Limited
$1700 = A* 200mm F4 Macro ED [IF]

K 18mm 3.5 - $500
FA 31mm Ltd - $1150
FA 43mm Ltd - $750
FA 77mm Ltd - $750
FA* 85mm - $1200
A* 200mm Macro - $2000
A* 400mm 2.8 - $3500

I think that would about cover me. I've got the A* Macro, the FA* 85, and the 31mm Ltd. at the moment, and I don't think I could do without them, photographically, now that I've had a taste. They're just too good. I'd want all lenses to cover a film frame, for use with film, or a FF sensor if that ever happens. That is assuming that camera body purchases are not limited, too, in this hypothetical situation.

I was searching for a f.95 lens for my list and thought it was only $2k or so. Boy, was I wrong. Is there an adapter for that lens to Pentax?

Either one is only $500. You still have $9,500 left. We're ignoring the body here, you can use any body as long as it is K-mount.

Let me think.....

Zooms:
DA 10-17mm fisheye
DA 17-70
DA* 50-135mm OR Tammy 70-200mm F/2.8 (whatever i feel like the day i click the BUY button )
Sigma 100-300mm F/4

Primes:
K 28mm F/3.5
FA 31mm limited
FA 43mm F/1.9
FA 50mm F/1.7
A 50mm F/1.2
K 55mm F/1.8
Sigma 85mm F/1.4 (assuming its a great lens, which im sure it will be)
M 85mm F/2
FA/F 135mm F/2.8
K 135mm F/2.5
FA* 200mm F/4 macro
Several sets of auto extension tubes/reverse rings and a bellows.

Im not going to take the time to check costs, so im just going to assume thats within $10,000 though im sure its not
Anyways thats my dream setup As far as im concerned at the moment.

I've re-thought this. I would go with the FA* 200mm f4 macro and FA* 600mm and after that I would replace my ltd series one lens at a time.

I know...it's hard. Can I add the FA ltds and the DA*50-135 to mine?
