Anyway, I DO get the idea, and I'll stand by my list from before -- which is pretty similar to your starting list because you listed some darn good lenses! I was just teasing a little bit about the seriousness of this exercise.
Carry on!
You hypocrite, depriving your offspring of the pleasures that you so freely partake in.
You do get the idea of the thread. I have no problems with people's lists, even if it were short and to the point. This is a game and it's meant to be fun first and foremost, with a little bit of learning/sharing involved as well. We do have a few mental stragglers though, who think they're given $10k to spend on a single lens to add to their current collection. I do a poor job of suffering fools.
Originally posted by Pentaxor fwiw, I believe most if not all people here would prefer squeezing in all the best lenses in all focal lengths, including prime specialty lenses and zooms they could muster with their limited budget.
I think that's unique to Pentax only, with its lineup of amazing primes and MF lenses. I feel as if primes had hit their peak 20 years ago while zooms have finally got to a point where they're starting to rival primes. I'm all for image quality over convenience, any serious photographer should as well.
I'm getting my first Voigtlander lens soon, trying to start up my Voitlander/Leica/Carl Zeiss collection. I need to work harder so I can afford the FA LTDs and Leicas. My friends are trying to start an intervention, screw them.
