Hello to everyone. Thank you for your very positive comments. I will do my best to answer all of your questions as best I can.

Years ago, I made the mistake of attempting to clean a focusing screen in one of my cameras. I was finally able to get rid of my finger print by replacing the screen entirely . Dust inside the prism should be cleaned ( if possible ) by a repairman. I would not try it myself.

Chuck's as good as it gets around here and we're really excited about this opportunity. However, often inside info is protected by various non-disclosure agreements retailers and vendors agree to and we honor and respect them.

Chuck's in sales and I'm more of a customer ombudsman, so we hope that with two B&H folks here, you'll get the best of both worlds from B&H.

I would have to agree that B$H is the standard. I have spent my mortgage payment there many times over.

Could you give us the option to ignore this thread?

At this time, no, for technical reasons.

Edit: I actually found a very quick workaround. You can now select this forum as well as site suggestions and welcomes to be ignored

Concerning the affiliation between us and B&H, I can be pretty thick in the head sometimes especially when something is too easy.
So, all I have to do is click the link and the magic of technology takes care of the rest as far as the forums getting donated to?
Thanks (I just bought a K10D and have the urge to splurge! (a little)

It should, yes. Several orders have been mis-tracked over the past few weeks, though, so if you want to be completely certain, paste this in your address bar, and then start shopping:

Thanks Adam. For those unfamiliar with the specifics, all the stuff in the url above after the backslash tells us where you've come from when you come from here to our site and that ID lingers throughout your visit so if there's a purchase it goes to this site's credit. I understand this is a temporary attachment. If you subsequently start a shopping session directly from bhphotovideo.com there's no link back to this site. If you're loyal to Adam and this site, you can bookmark the whole lengthy url and the attachment will be present each time you visit us.

Good!

Thank you Adam and Henry!

My loyalty to Pentax runs deep. That is a Spotmatic F in my avatar! My first photos of our youngest son, (now a 32 yr old) were taken with my K1000 which was my first SLR and how I became attached to photography and to Pentax. I sure wouldn't miss the chance to help out the helpers. The "helpers" being you, Adam, Henry, and everybody that I've talked to in the forums.
Besides, the prices at B&H are really, really good!

This is just awesome, guys!

Sitting at the bottom tip of Africa I have drooled all over my PC many a times while watching all the nice stuff at B&H...

Can anyone tell me if shipping will work out cheaper than the prices quoted on their site?

In the short to medium term I will not be in a position to buy much more than some roll film but it does seem a bit steep paying 10 or more times the price of a roll of 120 for shipping...are there no cheaper alternatives?

Or maybe I should ask the pro directly...

Cheers all!

There's a shipping fee calculator on our site. You can use it on any item's product detail page to get the s&h fee for that item or you can put several items in a shopping cart and enable the s&h calculator for the whole lot. Enter your country and you'll get a range of options.

Usually the post office (USPS) is less expensive but IMO UPS is speedier, their online package tracking service is a lot better, and they're quicker and more cooperative if a parcel is lost or damaged in transit. YMMV.

Thank you Henry

I will look into that...I don't mind slower options on low value items...on high value items I will obviously think differently.

I will typically buy 5 - 10 rolls at a time but I was hoping for postage not double or three times the value of the purchase.

Will get back to you soon!

Cheers,

Anton

We're going to introduce a new structure to this forum: each question should now be posted in a new thread, and each thread will no longer be open from others' comments apart from yours and those of the B&H staff.
