43mm to 42mm Step Down ring?

B&H,

Is there such a thing as a 43mm to 42mm Step Down Ring? Searched your website and could not find it. Maybe no one makes it? Vixen adapters have 43mm female threads and need to convert it to regular t-threads in a low profile ring. Any help appreciated.

Hello,

No, I am sorry. 42mm was not a standard filter size. You also mention T-threads. What are you wanting to do? Maybe with more details, I can figure something out.

Are you looking to adapt filters or to mount a lens?

If it is a lens then the only possible adaptor would be a T mount to M42 adaptor.

the T mount comes in 2 parts, a male adaptor with external M42 threads to go into the camera body, with about a 49 mm female opening that accepts a variety of internal threaded 49 mm rings that can be purchased or easily fabricated, for what ever thread mount your lens has.

I have several T mount lenses and adaptors.
Mating to:
-M42 (pentax Screw mount)
-M44 (miranda Screw mount)
-Nikon AI and
-Pentax K

43mm to 42mm Step Down ring

goldenarrow,

Try this.

jiakgong DIGITAL items - Get great deals on Flash Trigger, Step Up Rings items on eBay Stores!

They might not have it but they do have a large and eclectic selection of good quality merchandise at fair prices.

Their service is excellent.

Thanks to all for answering. I have been playing around with ideas for using generic t-threaded lenses and t-threaded telescopes to attach to my K100D Super (with proper T-mount on the camera as needed). I had noticed that Vixen telescopes have a 50.8mm to 43mm adapter with female threads and thought, gee, wouldn't it be such a nice thing if there existed a simple ring to convert that to 42mm instead of using the t-threads on the flip-up mirror (which just adds to the weight and bulkiness of using a portable scope). So, I guess that answer is that, unless the Chinese make it in some out of the way factory, it does not exist. However, I do own a 42-43mm Step UP ring. But maybe the reverse (step DOWN) does not exist!

I don't own the Vixen telescope, was just looking to see if such a thing could be done before I buy anything. Partly a thought experiment which could turn into reality if it looked to work.

I will check the Chinese link, plus have another look at ebay. Thanks for the help.

check with the scope manufacturer directlyu

When I bought my Celestron C90 (1000mm F11) spotting scope, It came with a camera mount option, and I bought the T mount and both nikon and pentax adaptors (i shoot pentax my BIL shoots nikon)

The others I mentioned in my previous post came as the result of used lens purchases

OK, thanks. Will do. In this particular case I was trying to see if there was a way to eliminate the flip-up mirror assembly that screws onto the focuser but I don't think there is if a 43-42 step down ring does not exist. But I will ask them.
