Hi,

I've been looking for a replacement hood for an FA* 300 f2.8 ED (IF). The Pentax P/N is MH-RA112. I remember seeing this hood in stock at B&H a few years ago. Is there any possibility that you still might have this item in some "dead stock" area, and just culled it from your online listings?

Pentax USA C/S says that they don't have it in stock, and I'd have to order it through a dealer with the possibility that it could be ordered from Japan. I thought this a bit strange, since they sell directly, but since I can just ask here, I thought I'd try. I know it's very expensive, but my present one is damaged pretty badly, and the lens is not nearly as good without a hood, and since it threads onto the outside of the lens body, it's unique to this lens alone.

Would I need to call C/S at your store to start an inquiry about the possible availability and current price of this item? Any help you might be able to give would be appreciated.
