Hi

I have a pentax k7 with 18-55mm kit lens and am looking to add the da 55-300mm this week. I wondered if this gear will fit in the kata h10, or would I need the h12 or h14?

I have the H14 and when I have the 55-300 on my k200 with the hood on (not reversed for storage) it will use the full size of the 14 with the divider removed. I wouldn't get a smaller size to be honest but thats me.

I would recommend using either the H-14 or H-16 for your 2 lens set up.

Yep, I have an H-12 and it is not big enough for my K20D and DA*50-135mm, so I doubt anything less than the H-14 would fit both the 18-55 *and* the 55-300 attached to a K-7. Just your body and the tele may be smaller, yes, but not much shorter...

I have one that I bought on a hunch, I liked that it can also carry my Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod if I want...but in general it works just like a holster case in sling form. Of course there is the limitation of it being over the left shoulder only.

I really like the internal sling for the camera body with a lense mounted if ya want. You can store a couple other lenses, a flash or whatever under that camera cradle/sling as well as a couple nice external pockets and some filter holder pockets too.

I also like the very WIDE and well padded shoulder strap. Unlike the alternative sling bags this really is a nice wide shoulder strap that, even when I have like 15-20lbs of gear in the bag (including the tripod & head) is very comfy and easy to carry.

Anyway, just a thought as another option if you had not considered it yet.

You might look at the lowepro photo runner. I have it and use it indoor and outdoors.
Stores a K-7 with a DA-40 Ltd mounted, FA100-300, FA77 with soft case, and DA18-55 along with tripod/monopod. Has a pouch for that extra battery, SD Card and cell phone. You could juggle with the lens and put a flash instead.
