How does US extended warranty applied in Canada

Hi, I have a question regarding the extended warranty on the Pentax camera purchased in the US when applied to Canada. Would Pentax Canada honor the extended warranty (other than the standard International 1-year warranty)? Thanks.. or should I post this question to Pentax Canada?

For product sold out side the United States, please check with the manufacturer locally, to see if they will honor the USA warranty. This is entirely up to the discretion of Pentax in Canada and out of the control of B&H. This will include the PENTAX Imaging Company 2-Year USA Only Extended Warranty.

B&H now offers SageMax Protection Plans which will cover qualifying products worldwide. An items corresponding plan will be listed on its product page on our site.

The SageMax Protection Plans main advantage over extending the manufacturers warranty is coverage for ADH or (Accidental Damage and Handling), normal wear & tear and failure due to environmental factors.

Chuck (BH), thanks for the quick response. I did check also with Pentax Canada - thus confirm what you are describing. I am a little surprise that they start charging $50 handling fee even though it is covered under 1-year International warranty (this is news to me). Here is the quote from Pentax Canada.

All PENTAX digital SLR camera bodies and digital SLR lenses which are purchased in Canada from an authorized Canadian PENTAX dealer come with a 2-year warranty against manufacture defects. The first year of the warranty is covered by the PENTAX International Warranty while the second year is a Canadian only warranty that is valid only on purchases made in Canada from an authorized Canadian PENTAX dealer.

Any product that is purchased in the USA will come with the 1-year PENTAX International Warranty. You would have to ask Pentax USA if they would be willing to ship a camera sent in for servicing back to Canada. My feeling is they will not, but its not my call.

Thanks, Chuck, I think I got my answer to the warranty charges by Pentax Canada. Within the 1-year International warranty period, the listed warranties will cover malfunctions resulting from defects in materials and/or workmanship. Pentax Canada Inc. will perform repairs and return the product at no charge for the repair. So, I am good for at least 1-year warranty.

Again, much appreciate your comments and thoughts.
