My Optio S55, although getting on in age, has always worked fine. However, the lens structure has now jammed out. The camera will not now turn on. I thought perhaps it was a battery problem, but a new battery has had no effect. Any ideas for solving this problem, or do I need a new camera?!

A common problem with small digital cameras with telescoping lens designs is the lens jams for a variety of reasons. My experience has been that the cost of the repair is usually not worth spending when compared to the price and the more advanced features a newer model has to offer.

Unfortunately B&H does not do camera repairs. The manufacturer is always the best place to look for repair services.
