Too much confusion, I'm afraid.

Dealnews email today had a link to the rebate form on your site and trumpeted $100 off the K-r.

The other sections have rebate threads, as well.

Would you please sort this out for us all?

I am sorry information you found online from someone other than B&H Photo included inaccurate or outdated information.

A common problem with price-search/shopping websites and search engines is that they often post inaccurate pricing for our company. We make every possible effort to ensure all information you get from us in accurate and up-to-the-minute. Unfortunately we have less ability to control information fed to you from other, non-B&H, sources. B&H has no control over what they post and can only make a formal request with to have an inaccurate information changed.

Ultimately we can only be responsible for prices + content posted on our website (B&H Photo Video Digital Cameras, Photography, Camcorders) and we cannot be held accountable for incorrect information another site posts regarding ours. Only the B&H web site has accurate up to date pricing information.

I regret their inaccuracy and any confusion this may have caused you. We will contact the source for this and ask them to update their data more speedily.

There are no rebates listed for Pentax on the B&H site anymore. None that I can find, anyway.

They pulled them yesterday late afternoon - so I guess they were not current and accurate? Or, did they have a limited number of actual rebate cards they will be sticking into their stock?

I just asked our digital camera buyer. The rebate form bobmaxja included in his post was removed from our site at the specific instruction of Pentax USA. FWIW I also checked two or three other NY-based camera retailers generally considered legitimate and could not find any Pentax digital slr rebates there either.

I have asked our buyer to get clarification or an explanation from Pentax USA. If they provide one they're willing to let me post here, I will.

I expect that they're too busy doing other photo shop things to keep on top of the Web site. I also expect that Chuck was unable to take the time to actually check the link for himself.

Good afternoon, Henry:

We want to apologize for any confusion regarding the Pentax K-5 and K-r $100 mail in rebate. This promotion was designed for the Photo Plus Show and only for in-store only (not online purchases). Only original coupon pads would be accepted, no photo copies. Once Pentax discovered that the offer was on the B&H site, we asked B&H to remove the offer and they promptly complied. The offer is good until November 6th but, again, they are only for in-store purchases.

Thank you for your continued support of Pentax products and we apologize for any inconvenience or negative publicity this caused B&H Photo.

I noticed that another retailer is listing the Pentax K-R for $740.95. I was wondering if you could match that price If I ordered a Pentax K-5 at $1599.oo body also? For a Total of $2340.00 including shipping.
I would rather get the camera's from you to help support this forum.

B&H will consider matching a legitimate price offering from an authorized dealer. We must be able to verify the offer and that the item is in stock. We cannot match phone quotes, coupons or any other promotional incentives.

We will need to know the name of the vendor, the item you are interested in and the advertised price.

To add a bit to Chuck's comment, it behooves you to check any other possible retailer at Resellerratings.com first. I guarantee we're not matching prices with any place with a 4.5/10 rating. :-)
