Recommendations for a joystick head

Hi B&H,

I'm looking for a sturdy joystick head for my Manfrotto tripod, which would allow me to easily control a lens such as the DA* 50-135mm or the 60-250mm without having to use multiple knobs. It shouldn't be too loose, so that I don't right hitting my lens against something, and preferably also under $300.

I currently have a pano head for that purpose, and it's not what I was looking for, as it feels more like a cheapo-version of a gearhead.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Adam, while I don't like this type of head myself, I have used these heads from both Slik and Manfrotto, and thought the Slik was the better head.
The Manfrotto that I used never realy locked solidly and had the typical notchy movement that I've come to expect from Manfrotto ball heads, the Slik was much smoother and locked more solidly.
Without wanting to disrespect anyone, you might be better served to ask this in General, as you might get user reports.
I know these guys sell the stuff, but that isn't the same as using it.

Thanks for the replies! That vanguard head looks pretty novel, but looks like it might get the job done! Once I sell my old head, I'll definitely pick this one up.
