Pentax Packaging

Chuck,

Especially with lenses, I find Pentax's packaging less than desirable compared to other manufacturers (Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and Panasonic, specifically).

A little over a week ago, I ordered two 35mm limiteds (yes, two!) only to find the side seam of both boxes had completely pulled apart from the stress of the contents (packed too tight!). While I clearly admit I'm obsessive compulsive when it comes to things like packaging, I don't want my $539 "limited" lens to arrive with the flimsy box burst open.

Enough of my rant. My question is whether B&H ever communicates these packaging deficiencies with companies like Pentax? I'm sad to say I sent the lenses back for refund. I'm sure I'll get a timely refund from B&H, but I'm guessing I'm not the only one who feels this way, and it's ultimately the retailer that suffers.

Anyway, glad to see B&H here on the forum. You guys are the best!

Kurt

No, you're not the only one. I bought some Nikon and Tokina equipment for a friend a while ago, and I was surprised to see how well packed the camera and lenses were in comparison to how I received my Pentax items.

Hello,

Thanks for your feedback. I sent your comments directly to our Pentax rep. Not sure if he'll comment or not, but he'll see your posting. Any feedback we receive about a manufacturer, we always try and share it with our company contacts. When I hear anything, I'll let your know.

Hello,

Your comments have been received by Pentax Corp. I have no news other than the higher ups have your comments. If I get any additional feedback from Pentax, I will post it here.

Thanks again.
