Chuck, at this moment in time as I type the B&H link page displays: "TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK", in nice bright red block capitals so it cannot be missed (I for one, appreciate that!)
That's understandable, you can't carry (or get) an infinite number.

However, can you please elaborate on what exactly does that mean? Considering this silly silver K-5 is definitely not a normal rinse & recycle standard item, instead it's a a short run limited model, sought after looked forward to and prized by some; then obviously dealers like the one you represent can only hope to get a certain quantity of the limited mfgr run for onselling in any case, or are your re-supplies guaranteed (by Pentax)?

What I imply here is that; from a customer's perspective, with all hopes and expectations built up; how would one know (for sure) that they are going to get a special edition one if one does place an order for it?

I think you'd agree that it's neither smart nor a pleasant experience to commit 1,700 bucks on a single mouse-click, only to be held on a leash for ??? days (ie. money tied up), then to be told in the end that you miss out, sorry, we will refund. B&H is no 'maybe win the lottery' sleazeBay auction after all.

TIA for your clarifications.

.R.

Basically its supply and demand. We hope to get more in and when I know anything I will let you know ASAP.

We agree which is why this item like all Out of Stock items cannot be ordered on our Web Site.

The availability is in Pentax's hands- and we all know how bad they are at informing retailers about anything.

Hello;

Per our Pentax Rep, Pentax USA does not expect anymore of the Pentax K-5 Limited Edition. If there are any changes I will post it here.
