Will Pentax AF-540 FGZ P-TTL Shoe Mount Flash work with the K-x?

Dear B&H,

Will this flash / speedlight work with the K-x?

and does it have the reflector for the top of it so I can bounce the light? Thank you.

That flash will work with the K-x. The flash has a little pull-out panel that might put a little catch-light in the eyes, but I would not really call it a "bounce" feature as it is pretty small.

Hello,

Yes, the Pentax AF-540 FGZ is compatible with your K-X and includes a pull out bounce card. We carry many accessories that will improve your results when bouncing the light from a flash.

The LumiQuest 80-20 enlarges and redirects 20% of the light at a 90 angle from the flash and allows 80% of the light to pass on, to be redirected by another surface, which is usually a ceiling.

The Omni-Bounce creates a diffused bare bulb effect, giving even coverage across the entire frame, with lenses from 15mm to 200mm in the 35mm format (and equal in other formats as well). The Omni-Bounce is easy to use and goes onto and off the flash in seconds with custom fitting (except for UNI model) and no touch fastener. Designed for years of service without the bulk of some other diffusers, it is small enough to fit easily into a gadget bag or pocket.

Thank you for this information. Do you know if this flash can be controlled by a remote? Or if the k-x can even control a remote flash?

Chuck, Thanks. I really don't want to be a pest but I am lost on what to buy. I read the links and I understand the flash to buy. What I don't understand is how it is wireless. Is that optical or radio? Do I need to buy a radio slave (can I with the k-x) because the built in one is less reliable? Sorry. I just don't know what to give you money for yet. .
