P-TTL flash for K-x

What is the least expensive true P-TTL flash available? Any have bounce capability and only use 2 AA batteries? I have tried the Rokinon version and it does not work despite the add claims.

I doubt you will find a flash using only 2 AAs. All the flashes I've seen use 4.

The least expensive that delivers is probably the Sigma 530 ST if you can still find it, it's actually a very powerful flash and costs only around 130$ new these days (it's being replaced by the 610). the Pentax AF360 is probably inexpensive too, but I doubt it's as cheap as the 530.

Another option is to get a reliable auto flash like the Pentax AF280T. These go for around 60-75$ used, depending on their condition. I'll probably have one for sale in a week or two, when I get my Sigma

I was thinking about the Metz 24 AF -1. It looks identical to the Rokinon unit I purchased that would not work on the K-x. Is is possible that Metz has it's own electronics in the same plastic body? The specifications are the same for both units. The Metz unit is $90 vs $50 for the Rokinon.

im pretty beginner (with k-x), but ive bought af-360fgz, and tbh so far ii dont see that it is worth 250$ over pop up flash within regular indoor photos, both perform same, didnt try outdoor or in big in door places, but wireless mode is nice and gives you different angle in photography

tilt the flash straight up into the ceiling, use a gobo on the front of the flash so there is no spill coming off the front of the flash onto the subject and bounce the light off the ceiling. if there is no difference in appearance your getting spill from the front of the flash.

if you're shooting straight at the subject with both flashes, of course there won't be any difference. its the same hard light coming from the same lousy angle.

start off here

Hi,
I am looking for a less than USD200.00 flash for my K-x. Following are some of the external flash I have come across on the internet.
1. Zeikos ZE AF585P
2. Polaroid PL-144AZ
3. Vivitar DF383
4. Sigma EF610 DG Super (out of budget thou)
Does guide number make much of difference? I have read, the higer the guide number the more powerful flash.
Please advice which of the above mentioned flash is good and reliable.

Does anyone have experience with the Metz 24 AF-1 on a K-x?
