Autofocus problem.

Hi,

I have purchased Sigma 8-16mm 1:4.5-5.6 HSM from B&H.

But, auto focus function didn't work at all(from 0.79ft to infinite). My camera is K-5 and other lenses from pentax work well.

What is the check point for problem of this lens? Should I exchange this lens?

thanks,

from Brookline, MA

Hello;

I called Sigma and they suggested;

1) Reset the camera back to factory default settings. They have noticed issues with special settings with HSM lens. Reset the camera and then test the lens, if it works, you can then choose your own setting choices.
2) Your camera needs to have the latest fimware installed.

If this does not work, please contact our Customer Service Dept for a return authorization.

Thank you chuck.

I've returned the lens and waiting for new one. I hope this will work well.

If Sigma recommended that, the new lens also need to reset my camera first. lol

If you return the lens, your site support will also be reversed- make sure to go through the same process when ordering again, and PM me the transaction ID. If you made the exchange via phone, then the support will be lost permanently, I think. Chuck, can you confirm this?

Hello,

If an item purchased via the Pentax portal is returned for what ever the reason, the commission is cancelled. If you need to make an exchange, for the interest of this site; return the item in question and make a new purchase via the portal link. This is the safest way to ensure your support the Pentax Forum site.

I'm confused..

Hmm..

I've returned just one lens and other lenses are just fine. Do you mean all other lenses of my order was reversed?
