battery charger in Africa

I will be traveling on a photo safari in S.Africa and Botswana next summer. I have two Pentax digital cameras - K10D and K5 - with pentax brand battery rechargers. I presume these rechargers CANNOT be used with a simple converter plug in those 220V countries, and that I will also need a 220 to 110 power converter? Do I need some kind of heavy duty converter to handle what may be daily recharging of a few hours each day?
Thanks for your advice.

Hello,

We carry inexpensive chargers that can be used world wide. I would travel with these and not th original OEM's.

This Pearstone Mini AC/DC Battery Charger is intended for use with the Pentax D-Li50, Samsung SLB-1674, and Konica-Minolta NP-400 rechargeable battery. Compact and lightweight, the charger features a red/green LED charge indicator light and a folding AC plug. A DC plug is included for use in a vehicle, and a Euro adapter is included for international use.

Thanks much. I have just purchased several new bits of equipment and two big lenses from you. I will also check these out.

One more question. Why would you not travel with the originals. Easier to replace the inexpensive ones, or some other reason? Thanks.

Hello,

Cost of replacing. I'd rather leave a $20 charger in a hotel room than a more expensive one.
