Just received a Tamron 70-200 2.8 from B&H and like the lens a lot. But I have a question about manual focus. The focus has a strong drag. You can hear gears turning. I was wondering if that was normal for this lens? All lenses I have ever used turned easy and moved smoothly in manual focus.

Are you switching the camera to manual focus?

Yeah you have to switch out. This lens doesn't have quick shift.

Yes that's it. I didn't get the focus switch on the camera all the way down to manual. It works great now.
