Hello, I have a Pentax K20D and I would like to know which prime lens would be better
a- Pentax 55 mm f1.4 SMC-DA
b- Pentax 50 mm f 1.4 SMCP-FA

Hi Bern

That is not an easy question to ask the B&H people however helpful they are. If you asked it elsewhere in the forum, it could generate a lot of discussion, and you would find that each photographer may have his/her own opinion about that. That generally asked, it is a very subjective question, with no simple objective answer. If you ask more precisely they could help you, like which focus the fastest, which is best weather protected etc. etc. But then you will have to decide yourself which factor that is the most important for you.

(Sorry B&H if I interfere on your job here, but I thought you could do with some help.)

I agree with Douglas. I've never had the chance to use the 55 mm f1.4 SMC-DA lens. I was not able to find a review on it.

DA* - weather sealed, arguably better IQ
FA - (much) cheaper, faster AF, more compact

I would go for the FA unless you need the weather sealing.
