Will these items work together to allow shutter release compatibility with the pentax 645D?

Yes they will.

FYI "The shutter on the 645D can be triggered with any of our current infra-red remote control units (the Remote Control F, Remote Control E, the waterproof Remote Control WP and the older Remote Control D). The shutter can also be triggered using Cable Switch CS 205 connected to the camera." Pentax
