This lens is selling at B&H for $300 in the Canon, Nikon, Alpha and Sigma SLR mounts. A search for the Pentax mount indicates "discontinued," but Sigma Photo shows the Pentax mount as a current lens.

Does this mean B&H discontinued carrying it?

The problem for a Pentax owner, especially a newer adopter, is seeing these great deals bypass Pentax, and only be available to the more popular camera mounts. Together with the price rises a couple of years ago for the Pentax lens line, the disparity is not productive in terms of buying lenses and using these wonderful instruments to a fuller potential.

As an authorized dealer, B&H would not and cannot discontinue an item on our own. According to Sigma's web site , the 17-70mm lens is being phased out including the Pentax mount version. Manufacturers are reluctant to post this information for fear that some dealers will have stock and be unable to sell it. Manufacturers will only advise customers that an item is no longer available only after they are confident that there is no remaining dealer inventory.

I certainly believe you that it is discontinued. B&H is an extremely reputable, reliable, and responsible dealer. Adorama does not have a listing for it at all. I cannot quite figure out the "Lens Chart for Recently Discontinued Lenses" at Sigma, but it would suggest it no longer makes the 17-70 in any mount, is that correct?

However, I see a Pentax mount one listed on Amazon ----- for $8,803.49.
