It certainly does. If a US distributor (Pentax USA in this instance) sets either a min advertized price or a min selling price we are contractually bound to honor that.
When we're permitted to sell below an MAP price we do so willingly and do not make a customer ask for the "real" price but offer it at the outset. When a min selling price is set though we cannot violate that. In fact to prevent sales associates from doing so inadvertently our buyers have safeguards in our sales system designed to prevent a sales associate from doing so.
BTW if you order online though the link in my sig (or Adam's link to B&H) you support the site at no cost to yourself. When you order by phone (or online but not though the specially tagged link) there is no way to apply the benefit to the site during or after the order.
