Black Friday and then....are there any other comparable Pentax sales during the year? I bought one lens during the weekend so didn't miss it entirely, but am just wondering if there are other points at which we might benefit as consumers, such as after Christmas or some other time.

I don't think pentax will drop map pricing during any other time period, but that's not to say that deals & rebates won't be posted. Rebates typically go live in the fall and last throughout the holiday season.
