If I preorder the Sigma 18-35 when will my card be charged?

If I preorder the Sigma 18-35 when will my card be charged? Will there be a hold on it for the lens, or will it only be charged/held when they come in stock and are going to be shipped?

If you add it to your cart, then view your cart, there is the following notice:
"Important Notice!

This is a new item, We are accepting orders and they will be filled in the order they are received. An authorization for this product will be processed upon placing the order. Your order will only be charged at time of shipment.
If you just click the pre-order button, there is a pop-up that says that as well.

It was pointed out to me that, apparently, international orders are charged at the time the order is placed.
