Extra mailing charges for sending to APO (US Army PO) address?

Hello,
I was about to order some stuff from B&H and discovered that giving an APO address (US Army Post Office) costs an extra $10.50.
Why is that? Even though the order is over the $50 limit which qualifies for free delivery.
Can this charge be waived now and for future orders?
kind regards,
deba

I think it's because UPS doesn't ship to APO addresses, so the shipment has to go by US mail, which has never been free at B&H (AFAIK).

Adam is correct. Our free shipping offer is limited to shipments going via UPS, which is not available for APO addresses. I can refund the shipping after you place the order. Email henryp[at]bhphoto.com and include the B&H order number. This is a one-time action on my part which cannot be programmed to repeat automatically.

If you have an alternate non-APO address in the "lower-48,", that would solve the problem too.

Hello Henry,
Thank you so much for the prompt and terrific help in this matter.
I am posted in Europe, therefore the (via) APO address.
As always I appreciate B&H. I bought my K3 and the FA77 from B&H in March.
And next year's wishlist is also in the offing.
Kind regards,
Deba
