Hi,

I am interested to purchase
Pentax K-3 DSLR Camera (Body Only)

B&H # PEK3 MFR # 15530
$749

Amazon is selling some of this at $628. Do you do the price match?

I may also go for DA* 60-250mm f/4 ED (IF) SDM which is available in new and used section. I am Ok with the used one as long as it is functioning well and well priced.

As we have discussed here in previous threads, Pentax [Rioch] USA has employed what is called "Unilateral Minimum Retail Price Policy" or MAP. This basically puts a limit to how low an authorized dealer can price a manufacturer’s product. I checked Amazon and they are [Fulfilled by Amazon] shipping a body for $694.47. Because of the MAP policy, we are unable to match even the higher $694.47 price which is very aggressive.

It certainly does. If a US distributor (Pentax USA in this instance) sets either a min advertized price or a min selling price we are contractually bound to honor that.

When we're permitted to sell below an MAP price we do so willingly and do not make a customer ask for the "real" price but offer it at the outset. When a min selling price is set though we cannot violate that. In fact to prevent sales associates from doing so inadvertently our buyers have safeguards in our sales system designed to prevent a sales associate from doing so.
