advice needed on flash purchase

I have GOT to purchase a bounce flash and I don't know where to begin. I am simply an amateur so I don't need anything to expensive. I will be taking some 'headshots' for my chiropractor's website and I know my on-camera flash just won't be flattering.

Unless you tell me otherwise, I will assume you are using a Pentax camera and will want to take advantage of TTL [Through The Lens] automation.

I feel the best bang for you dollar is VS-570P Wireless TTL Flash from Bolt.

It's fully compatible with Pentax/Samsung's TTL, including use as a wireless master or slave TTL flash, the VS-570P allows photographers to work quickly and comfortably by knowing that settings can be easily determined with the camera's automatic metering system. This unit also has good power output with a guide number of 141' at ISO 100 and 50mm and can cover a range of focal lengths from 24-105mm using the zoom head, or as wide as 18mm with the pull-out diffusion panel. You can even control output manually with power settings from 1/1 to 1/64.

The 9 x 9" Impact Micro Quikbox is a great way to expand the capabilities of your on-camera, shoe-mount flash. The Quikbox lives up to its name by opening and assembling in seconds. Just pop open the softbox, add the diffusers, fasten your flash to it with the softbox's touch-fasteners, slip the flash into the camera's hot shoe and you're ready to shoot.
