Pre-orders and shipping

If I were to order a Pentax K-1ii and lens, etc, how much control do I have over shipping?

I assume a signature is required, and I could very probably be traveling at the time it might ship in the spring, so I'm wondering if B&H just sends it out the door the second it gets in (or drop ships), or if I have any control over that? Do you wait to charge my card until then? And what's the policy on cancelling a pre-order?

Sorry for the delay.

The bank that backs your credit card requires a signature upon delivery. Some areas Fed Ex or UPS may deem safe and leave a package but a signature is required and we cannot wave that.

Generally speaking for an advance order or back ordered item, as inventory is received in our warehouse pending orders are prep'd and shipped our first in the order they were placed. We do not tally customer orders nor know how many pieces Pentax will ship us in the early weeks so I could not estimate when an order placed today would ship.

When an item is in stock, we can delay the shipping. You can instruct your sales professional when placing the order or if using the PF portal, contact Customer Service once you have an order number and request the shipping be delayed.

Your card would be charged when the order ships and there is no penalty to cancel an order, except if a special order and stated on the items product web page. The K-1ii is not such an item.
