SD Card Scanner

I think I saw an ad the other day for a stand alone scanner that did not hook to your computer that stored data on a basic camera card. I think it scanned negatives and slides. Now it was supposedly only $100 at Walmart but I was curious if anyone had seen, tried or heard of this. It had some advertising hype, but it sounded intriguing??

I've seen devices like this before, and if we're talking about the same thing, it's not really a scanner. It's a digital camera inside a scanner-like box. Though still not a scanner, you'll get much better IQ from a slide/film adapter for your dSLR. Though not quite as good as a good slide & film scanner, it's a lot faster.

I have this one, but I believe there are others for less.

Bower Slide/Film Copier

Edit: Yup, here's one from Opteka.

BTW, I got the 35mm negative adapter for my Bower, which works well.
