E6 -> C41 cross processing?

Has any tried taking E6 film into a regular store for processing in C41? Is this possible, and if so, what kind of effects would that yield?

Thanks!

What Wheatfield said. For more, I think there is a Wikipedia article on this.

You might get better traction with some first-person comments if this had been posted in the film processing forum. Maybe the mods will move it?

You will get a high-contrast negative with unexpected colour shifts, often towards green. It's great fun if you don't mind the unpredictability.

and if you put a C41 negative type film you get colour transparencies however the saturation boost isn't as evident, but the contrast goes up a steep curve.

I presume you mean C-41 film through E-6? Doesn't the mask come out kind of a blueish colour?

that is all part of the fun of screwing around with film chemistry, plus one thing I have noticed is that the graininess of E6>C41 process is somewhat reduced when you go C41>E6
