New Portra 160

I apologise if this is old news to some of you, but I stumbled across an article today explaining that Kodak has re-launched their Portra 160 films. It would appear that this has been done in much the same fashion as the new Portra 400.

See this article for more info:

I just received my first roll of the new 400 ISO. I'm going to be interested to see what differences there are.

The interview is not too surprising. Given where film is, I have, myself, questioned how Kodak could make both Portra 160VC AND Ektar. Personally, I have had no use for the VC product since Ektar was released. To my taste, there is nothing that VC did that Ektar or NC didn't do better. The loss of choice would be felt more in the ISO 400 product.

Interesting point Gene, I never got around to trying the VC in either 160 or 400.
I also just received a 5-pack of the new 400, in 120 size. Hope to try it out soon.

I have to admit, I never used VC much even before the new Ektar. I do think I have a few expired rolls in the freezer.

The new 400 is even available in 220. I'm looking forward to that for events.

From what I saw in the Kodak promo shot of the 160, it too will be available in 220.
Might go nicely in my 67
