Yet another price increase from Fujifilm

I just saw this

Another price increase on Fujifilm photographic films coming next month | Photo Rumors

Here in Spain, the price of Fuji films has jumped by around 15% in the last two months, and now it appears it's going to go up again. Fuji are already more expensive (and much harder to find) than Kodak Pro films such as Portra and Ektar, and more than Ilford too. Neopan is by far the most expensive B&W film around, so much so that I haven't even tried it yet because of the cost when compared to Ilford and Kodak. I get the impression that Kodak is used far more widely than Fuji's pro films and this won't help matters at all.

I picked up a couple of 5 packs of Acros 100 in light of this information. Acros is my favorite film, and I will continue to buy it and show support for it when I have to pay the additional cost. It's funny how each of our film-related purchases have really become "statements" and "endorsements" of this particular form of photography.

Fuji Acros 100 is still 4,84 Euro per roll (incl. VAT) from macodirect.de. That is pretty steep when compared with T-Max 100 at 3,95 Euro. We pay about the same here in the U.S for Acros ($6.00 USD) but quite a bit more for T-Max 100 ($7.49 USD) and $6.49 USD for Adox Silvermax.

Steve

(...remembering not that long ago when Acros was about $4.00 a roll...oh, well...)

Well, Just ordered a whole bunch of acros for 3.99 from B&H. I've also threw in a bit of pro 400h and velvia. Should last me a while.

That is an excellent price. I should get me some too.

15 rolls of 35mm and five rolls 120 headed my way (after Passover, of course). While I was there I noticed that they were selling T-Max 100 for the same price. I should'a got some of that too.

A price increase is better than delelting the product.
Everything goes up in price and film is no different.

I wish Kodak followed and increased the price of their E6 film insted of deleting them!

I couldn't agree more, E100VS and E100G are ridiculously expensive at the moment on ebay and people are paying top $ to get them.
I have 20 rolls of E100VS left in my freezer, but after that I'm not prepared to pay $20 per roll for expired film.

Yeah I really miss the Ektachrome films, specially the E100G. I only have a couple rolls left in 120 and then I'm out.

Phil.
