Listing deleted by author. Probably sold fast after the Popular Mechanics article. Or the guy just got
tired of being contacted by people with inane questions but no real intent to buy.

I do question the stated 614 sq ft stated in the article. Surely that's a typo for 61.4 sq ft. Otherwise,
that 'portable' building is 20ft tall.

Great price for the whole package, especially if those a/c compressors still work. Shame it's 1200
miles away.

I believe it is stated 614 cubic feet.

This is designed to go on the back of a M35 2.5 ton truck.
So to easily transport you'd want $5000 or so to buy a surplus truck and another couple thousand to make it run smoothly.

So for just under $10000 you could get the best portable darkroom?

Quote from the Popular Mechanics article:
"The three-room enclosure has 614 square feet of space for developing photos under enemy fire."

"It has 3 rooms, 614 cubic feet of working space, a heating/AC unit, a temperate water control system, and an escape door."

The PetaPixel one sounds more like it.

Square feet is a measurement of floor space. This is a box, you would measure the volume in cubic feet.

My first apartment, a one-bedroom, pre-war shotgun in a 4-unit building, was 640 sq. ft.

Thank you for that, I had only seen the Popular Mechanics article, which had a dead link to the craigslist posting.

Ummm, yeah.... All enclosed live/work spaces are boxes, (more or less). If I put my house up for sale, I'd list it as 1200 sq ft, not 9600 cu ft.
Admittedly, I'm not intimately familiar with mobil living nomenclature...

That's logical. But this is craigslist, where anything is possible.

Craigslist ad is now deleted. Perhaps it sold.

I posted this on APUG too. One reply there said he used something
very similar when in the Air Force at the end of the Vietnam era.
