The world around us is changing ever more rapidly. Each picture taken is a record of an instant in time that has moved on. I take pictures of the same scene many times, and it becomes obvious that nothing stays the same for long. To throw out a picture on artistic or technical grounds, completely overlooks the possible importance on historical grounds. Many historically famous photos are not known for their perfection, but their significance, as were these internment photos. A photo of people smoking in a theater or airplanes, once mundane, now has interest, even if it is a little blurred and suffers from vignetting.
