3f or .fff is the raw file format of the Flextight scanners (formerly Imacon, now Hasselblad). You can use the free FlexColor software (you have to register at
Hasselblad to download it) to process the files. There is no steep learning curve involved but you should consult the manual. The advantage over tiffs is you can take care to avoid clipping while they might not. Apart from that, the software is not particularly powerful. Processing 3f files in Photoshop does not make much sense IMO.
