Caffenol CM with Kodak UltraMax 400 color negative film - an experiment

Standard Caffenol CM recipe for 15 minutes ... shot with a Canon AE-1 plus a FDn 85/1.8 or a FD 50/1.4 SSC ...

I think it looks quite nice. Not extremely contrasty which is nice for some things. The cat doesn't seem too impressed; what are your thoughts?

How are you digitizing your negatives?

It seems to make for great portraits. The only time I tried Caffenol with color film was a disaster.

Thanks. I think that it works quite well for portrait applications ... the soft contrast helps IMHO.

I scanned with an Epson V600 both as a B&W negative and as a color negative to compare ... not a lot of difference to my eyes and Lr4 will take care of any desired tweaks.

Cheers, J
