I've only ever shot one roll and that was years ago but results were decent. 50 isn't low enough for me to have a full aperture range without an ND filter when shooting in the Spanish sun so I need to go a step further and try RPX 25, which I've read is a very nice film.

I shot a roll. The skies have a mottling the consensus on photrio is that i should have waited for the film to warm up from the refrigerator before opening, and that is was caused by the backing paper (120). Other than that I liked it quite a bit. I shot it as ISO 5 since I had a 2 1/3 stop orange filter on it, so I was using a large aperture, even in the New Mexico sun.

Thanks all for your posts and answers! In the meantime, the film is finally loaded in the km and the first few frames taken.

I will try to take the advice above and develop soon, but I also checked the data sheet from ilford. It says "preferably within 3 months" https://www.ilfordphoto.com/amfile/file/download/file_id/2049/product_id/699/

Finally developed (at a lab) and scanned (at home). I like it.

Nicely done. I do like the tonal range of the film.

Pan-F processed in Rodinal was the staple of my film shooting in the 1970s and 80s, but image fugitive latency was never an issue for me, as I used to develop almost straight away after taking. Has the emulsion changed much with PanF+, to cause this, or was it always there but I never noticed it?

I think it’s always been there, but like you, I’ve always developed my own film within a week of shooting.

A friend is going on holiday to England for 3 weeks, he wants to shoot Pan F amongst other film, so is 3-4 weeks too long to wait before processing Pan F?
If so why is this?

I ask as he will process the film on his return.
Thank you beachgardener.
Think ilford say several months! But I’ve taken longer...
But it is a short scale film and I meter carefully with a Weston meter at box speed Rodinal 1+100 at 20C for
60 minutes or ID 68 per Ilfords data sheet! I threat it like it was Kodachrome 64!

It is a nice film...

I did not answer all your question ... answer ... supposedly the latent image fades more rapidly than normal film!
But I’ve not noticed that! Except for edge printing images after ten years! But ignore that and use the data sheet! It is too dark here for 50 ISO and even in ID68 a published formula ie a clone of Microphen I still only get 50!
