How are you developing it? The reccomended developer, Adotech IV is very expensive. Based on Adox's spec, a $25, 100ml bottle will develop 4 rolls. I guess it’s not as expensive as sending black and white rolls off to be developed, but $6 per roll seems pretty high. I’d love to try it, but I’m not sure I’m ready to experiment at that cost.

I use Caffenol CL-CN 16 min @ 20°C/68°F

For one film :
500 ml Filtered Water
5gr Anhydrous Washing Soda
1gr Vitamin C
6gr Instant coffee ("Winny")
60 sec. slow agitations then 3 times every 3 minutes for 15 minutes, fixing 60 sec.

Other examples here.

What is your favorite film emulsion?

I still like the look of Tri-X Pan, including its most current version.
I dislike the curly pink/purple base, but the emulsion is just fine...

I like the colors of the Fuji 400H and the tones of the Ilford HP5. I shoot portraits manly.
B&W: Pan F. I used to rate it at ISO 12 when I shot sheet film. Lovely stuff.
Colour: Kodachrome 25.

I don't develop it -- I'm moving around every day (right now, on a train to the Big Smoke). I throw it in the lab pigeon slot and they get it done while I continue my crusade to save the world. They do use Adotech IV as standard though and go through a lot of it, particularly after main holiday periods, and presently with universities and schools on holidays. CMS II is the Hipsters' film of choice... I forgot to include Ilford's lovely Pan F+ 50 in my list. It's there now. I haven't used it for a while but hope to get a few rolls through 35mm with 17mm ultra-ultra-wide at a wild beach in the coming weeks.

Kodachrome, and Portra 160 NC.

For current film, Portra 160.

I also used to like TMax P3200 a lot, but I haven't used it lately.
