Hi guys,
I came up with this easy modification to convert an Automatic Helios 44M-4 into a full manual lens, without the need of a flanged adapter. It is 100% non-destruction & reversible and won't cost you a dime.
Material needed:
- Exacto
- Heavy duty storage tape (I used StaplesŪ Heavy-Duty Clear View Premium-Grade 2.6mil, )
The rear barrel casing and the 4 screws.
Here you can see the Automatic Diaphragm lever, on which the Pin push to close the Aperture.
Cut a piece of tape of about 2cm x 3mm and wrap it around the bottom of the Pin.
Voila, you have a stopper, a manual lens and you didn't had to spend extra dollars on a flanged adapter.
Note: Be careful when you screw those lenses on your K mount body. The screws of the rear barrel casing are not flush with the casing, they are 1mm deeper and may cause the security pin of your body to get stuck in the gap.
Always press the lens release button, on your camera body, until the lens is fully screwed.
