Talk me into buying both the K-5 AND K-r!

Ok I found out Vanbar has a pink K-r body for pre-order at A$627, so I may go for the K-r after all. I can't justify the extra features on the K-5 for the price (A$1379 on preorder).

Vanbar lists the price as "tentative" so let's hope they come good.

Bad news.

Received email from Vanbar today saying they have cancelled my pink K-r order, as pink is not available in Australia. Further, the camera will only be sold initially bundled with kit lens only, not available as body only.

I guess this "forces" me to go for the K-5 instead.

i went from a k20d to a k-x and while the performance was amazing, the little newbie body had me hanging out for the k-5.

also if you really want any colour k-x or k-r you can just order it from japan

I have a silver k-x with brown handle.

If you want the K5's features but want a purple camera, just get a K5 and then send it to the Colorwave people. They seem to be able to put a good (or hideous) color on just about anything!

also, maybe you could import one of those colored DAL 35/2.4s from japan and 'customise' your K5 a little

I currently shoot with a K10 and I love it, but I can't wait to get my hands on the K5 i've been reading a lot about it.
