K5 has 14bit RAW, I guess there is more room to play when doing postprocess?

Yes, DA35/2.4 is a really sweet lens. It takes brighter photos than the FA35/2 at the same setting (same scene, iso, aperture, speed), so I guess either FA35/2 isn't really an F2 lens, or DA35/2.4 is faster than F2.
There was a report a while back that compared the 35 2.0 to the Nikon equivalent. Ofcourse we can not take the camera out of the equation, but it was not as bright as the nikon..

What is the camera strap you show on the camera; that's not the normal Pentax strap. Is it a new version that Pentax is including with the K5 or did you get it at some special event?

Also, can you check on the number of RAW and JPEG images in a burst (ideally both at HI and LOW) settings. That is, when you have a chance; I'd have a hard time putting a camera like this down to run tests...
its the strap from a limited edition of the Super A from 1983. It think its quite fitting since the k5/k7 body resembles the Super A a bit

Can anyone tell me, is the K-5 (and presumably the K-7) port for the cable release the standard 2.5mm jack seen on the K200D/K20D?

Thanks in advance,

Craig

Great snaps!
Looks like the K-5 will benefit from a little Magenta Cast removal too!
I can't agree with you more, I always find the Magenta Cast a big turn off.

Unfortunately, it does seem quite typical of DA lenses' color rendering (or Pentax tendency to accent the red in the color pallet).

Thanks Frank

Frank:
Thank you for posting these shots. I hope you now realize that it's all your fault that I now have severe K-5 lust. If I get caught robbing a bank to afford this beauty I'm just going to have to implicate you as a co-conspirator!
"Yes Officer, it''s all Frank's fault! You see he posted these beautiful high ISO pics taken with the new Pentax K-5 camera and I just had to have that camera. So it's all his fault I tried to rob this bank."

Although the robber concealed his identity, authorities later cracked the case when a witness reported a distinct odor of peanut butter and jelly emanating from the perpetrator.

Just another sad case of the camera buying addiction that is ravaging this fair city.

Plus you won't even need shake reduction any more

I read the other day that Cartier-Bresson would quit coffee for long stretches so his hands would be steadier while shooting. Now that's dedication.
