I have not seen such AF problems with the DA*50-135 f/2.8 or Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 - my main "fast zooms", FA 50 f/1.4 or any of the f/2.8 Limiteds.
Unless its a problem which only shows up in long telephoto f/2.8 lenses.
All my other telephoto lenses are f/4 and above, so I couldn't say.
