refunds on Pentax K-r & K-5 ?

Hope this is the right place to post.
A french site Photovore.fr says that Pentax offers €80, €100 and €150 refunds on new dslr Kr and K5. The offer would start on next november 4th.
i didn't checked this info (and would not know how to, anyway

To avoid confusion, I think these are "rebates" not "refunds".

Is this a response to competitive moves by Nikon and Canon? Or perhaps just another version of a temporary promotional price?

It suggests, though, that Pentax think they can supply the demand they're trying to create, at least after November 4.

Any sign of a Guy Fawkes day sale in the UK???
