LoL - I have heard about people like you who take photos while sleeping, showering, copulating, and even routine body functions.

3,900 shots in 18 days. We have a winner here!

BTW, can you please ping me when you post K-5 shots?
Yeah, that number is pretty impressive!!!

Cost difference is $8.95 vs $35. Thought it was worth checking out for 3.

thanks.
So Pal, you've decided to support knock-off mobs somewhere in deep china.

You and imtheguy need to fire up your own K-5 web site.

At that rate and between the two of you, that is an average of 388 a day, or 141,944 a year.

Is there a Pentax world record kept anywhere on the most shots?

BTW, are all of those REAL shots, or just testing the shutter?

who am I supporting if I buy the $35 original?

is Sigma a "knock-off mob" because they make K-mount lenses w/o a license and just reverse engineering?

No, I would not feel good if I knew my purchase put a 12 yr old to work either. But I wouldn't feel better if that 12 yr old was unemployed and hungry. So much I don't know and can't control.

I'd say the majority of them were test shots. I did a bunch of fps/buffer tests, lots of high-ISO testing and some focus adjustments for a bunch of lenses. I'll tell you one thing, the K5 knows how to fill a 16GB card up quick. Bought an extra 2TB drive at the same time as the K-5 because I had a feeling things were going to get out of control

I don't expect to shoot anywhere near that amount once the novelty phase of the K5 wears off. I put about 15k on my Kx in about a year and 10k on my K7 in about 6 months.

You are a funny man.

I have an advantage over most. My life took a huge change a few years back so I found a new hobby and am able to spend 24/7 working on it. 99% of the shots so far are simply testing to get a good feel for the camera, few keepers.

Well, a good portion of those clicks were test shots too. Over the past year I bought and sold about 100 lenses... if you figure about 100 test shots playing around with each one, that's 10k right there

Oh, you are serious on that. I don't know about Sigma's story but your very first question contains also very good answer in it.

Sweat-Shops are different story, originals and knock-off's alike, probably you read about iPad workers in China, it's a war between humanity and modern slavery, supporting slavery won't do any good for solving neither unemployment or hunger. We saw this movie before in history. But again your bad battery problem is not the case of sweat shops. We don't know that.

Cheer up, no offense but you've just set an example of what are the possibilities of if someone uses knock-off's.

Wish you better shots than ever.
