No hot pixels yet, but if I would notice any, I would simply do a pixelmapping in the camera and continue shooting. If I got things right, nikonans need to send there camera in for pixelmapping?

Wow ! it produce "so many stars".

Is it possible that the reason nikon d7k sell at lower price is that they use mostly rejects-refurbished sensor sort of, or i might be misinformed.

Even I am worried about K-5 as it is sharing a similar sensor to Nikon D7000 and after reading those initial bad user reviews. I am postponed my plans of buying K-5 till mid next so that there will be sufficient time for the company to solve problems.

Wow that is alot of hot pixels! My K100D Super has some hot pixels, but it gets mapped out either in camera, or by my PP software automatically! I didn't notice them until I took a picture with the lens cap on to see the shadow noise :-P. But after looking at K-5 samples, my K100D seems to take progressively worse photos! J/K, the high ISO and the low iso DR would be great to have though! My lenses would really benefit from such a potent sensor!

BTW the price of the D7000 and the K-5 are just about the same in Poland. Maybe a $50 price difference...

I had one single blue hot pixel on my K-5. It was extremely hard to detect, so I only found out about it recently (it was really only visible against a solid black background viewed at ~100%). A single pixel mapping pass banished it.

Other than that, it's flawless.

My K10D has grown some hot pixels over the almost 3 years I've had it, but I normally don't notice at all except for a second or less before the RAW converter has removed them... but this Nikon, wow. I don't know if this is within the acceptable number to just map out in the factory or not, but in any case this is bad QC (what? Nikon has bad QC too?

Would this be a Nikon or Sony problem? Would Sony even be able to test the sensors before they go out? Either way you would think Nikon would shoot test pictures with each camera before it leaves the factory.

Well I was with many other Pentax users shooting night shots yesterday and I have to say your fears are baseless and unfounded.
I shot many long exposure shots and video over a 5 hour period and didn't encounter any hot pixel issue with my K-5.

My K-7 developed a hot pixel every few months. So after a year, it had maybe 7 or 8.
8 pixels out of a 14 MP sensor.... No big deal - just turned out using pixel mapping.

Faulty pixels in Video with a body which cannot do user-activated pixel mapping ....now, I call that irritating

No hot pixels here, why would Nikon release a body without pixel mapping in camera? This is basic stuff.

AFAIK, this was an attribute of the Samsung sensor technology. Happened to the K20D as well. Not an issue really...just run the pixel mapper once in a while and it's gone. And any RAW processing software will generally take them out automatically.

I'm just glad we have pixel mapping support. The Nikon folks have to send their DSLRs in for service to map theirs
